The company is a leading cladding and curtain walling facades contractor carrying out design, supply and installation packages for high profile clients. They operate from offices based in Northallerton, Birmingham and Doncaster and work on a national bases on a range of projects across the public, leisure, education, retail, commercial, health and industrial sectors with contracts ranging from £100,000 to in excess of £12 million.

The opportunity

Following continual growth and ongoing success we are now looking to enhance
our Head Office Estimating department. This is a pivotal role in helping the
business identify projects that align with the Company’s long-term objectives.

The responsibilities of the role include:

• Identifying potential opportunities for new projects within the construction sectors applicable to the Company.
• Logging enquiries onto the Estimating control log and completing estimating risk checklist.
• Inspecting tender documentation. Reviewing the projects suitability and it meets the company’s need and criteria.
• Analysing exact requirements and identifying areas that have implications to the company in terms of contractual requirements, site constraints, programme.
• Instigate design risk assessment when required.
• Prepare lump sum take-offs and produce bill of quantities identify proposed scope of work.
• Identify specified materials, sending enquiries to suppliers.
• Confident in providing rate build ups and populating bills of quantities.
• Ability to think outside the box, considering other construction methods which may give us an advantage as well determining the specific prelim requirements.
• Make submissions to the client as well as follow up process when required to gain client feedback.
• Attend client meetings as required.
• Be customer focussed, building long term relationships with clients to assist in securing work.
Candidate Requirements:

You will need to have as a minimum:

• Industry experience with a minimum of 5 years.
• Knowledge of Rainscreen Cladding systems is essential, knowledge of both Rainscreen Cladding and Curtain Walling would be preferred.
• The ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of building regulations and British construction standards.
• Good computer skills; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Full clean UK driving license.
